The truth behind crying children
It’s not manipulation, it’s the desire to be understood
Children sometimes display strong emotions as they try to express their feelings.
This is not manipulation, but a form of communication.
Just at the party last weekend.
When my child cried loudly at a party and insisted on going home, some people thought it was the child manipulating us.
When I heard this statement, I really struggled inside. After all, I knew that my child would not cry unreasonably like this normally.
On the way to take this child home, I had a lot of confusion about the saying "children are manipulating you by crying", and I hoped to understand the child's heart better.
I hope to be more prepared in advance the next time I take him out.
To this end, I looked up some relevant articles and mentioned my troubles in mom groups.

What I understand from reading various articles is that children are generally not capable of what we think of as manipulation; they just express their needs in their own way. From a child's perspective, they are trying to satisfy their needs and desires in limited ways.
Faced with this situation, we, as parents, should learn to better understand our children's emotions and needs.
For example, through conversations and encouragement to express emotions, we can help children learn healthier ways to communicate.
This way, when children are confused or have needs, they can express themselves more directly and clearly, rather than through emotional behavior.
The article also reminded me that parents need to understand their children’s behavior from their perspective, rather than simply labeling it as “manipulation” or other negative labels.
Through patience and understanding, we are not only better able to deal with our children's emotional behaviors, but we can also teach them how to express themselves in more mature ways.
This mutual understanding and support will ultimately help build a more harmonious family relationship.
